The Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award

 

What does it involve?

 

There are 4 main areas to the Duke of Edinburgh Award which are as follows:

 

Service - to encourage service to individuals and the community

Skills - to encourage the discovery and development of personal interests and socials and practical skills

Physical Recreation - to encourage participation and improvement in physical activity

Expeditions - to encourage a spirit of adventure and discovery

Plan, prepare for and undertake a 2 day, 1 night venture

 

NOTE: All participants must undertake a further 3 months in either the Service, Skills or Physical Recreation section.

 

How old do you have to be to do the Bronze Award?

 

To participate in the Bronze Award you have to be, at the minimum age, 14.  

 

The upper age limit for all Awards is the 25th birthday, by which time all activities which count for an Award must be completed.

 

How can I get started?

 

If you wish to get involved in the Bronze award through 1st Hartford Explorers then come along to our weekly meeting on Tuesday evenings (19.30 hrs)  Contact the leaders to indicate your interest.

 

DOE Cost

 

There is a Duke of Edinburgh Registration fee of £11.50.
