How Many!!!!!

Today more than 30 million young people in 216 countries and territories around the world, of every faith, culture and gender, are Scouts.  2007 saw the biggest growth in Scouting in the UK for 20 years, with and additional 13,500 young people and 1,500 adults joining to give a total UK youth membership of more than 465,000 with 100,000 adult volunteers.

The Scout Motto - Be Prepared

This is a reminder that all Scouts should be ready to do their duty to God, others or themselves. Scouts should always be ready for any eventuality, especially in helping others.

1907 - 2007 Centenary Celebrations

2007 Scouting marked the centenary of Scouting with World Celebrations , National Celebrations , and the 21st World Scout Jamboree in the United Kingdom, where Scouting was founded one hundred years ago. Over 40,000 scouts from all over the world attended the Jamboree, and Hartford provided hospitality for a contingent from Holland.

1st Hartford Centenary

The Hartford scout group was established in mid 1909, so 2009/2010 has been our centenary year. We held several special events and camps, celebrating with many of our past and existing members, as well as lots of new members.
